August 8, 1945
aged: 45 years
The death occurred at her home at Bigga on, Wednesday, August 8th, of Gregoria, wife of Mr. George Faros, of Bigga, reports the Crookwell ‘Gazette.’ The deceased, who had been bedridden for about three years, was 45 years of age, and joined her husband at Bigga in 1930. The couple were married in Greece in 1923, Her maiden name being Mentis. There are no children, and only a sorrowing husband is left to mourn the loss of devoted wife. Up to the time when her illness — a form of paralysis overtook her three years ago the late Mrs. Faros was closely associated with her husband in his business at Bigga.
In fact, it was under her influence and on her advice that he widened the scope of his business interests in Bigga and carried his ventures through to success. During her long illness she was twice conveyed to Sydney by ambulance to undergo specialised treatment. All this, however, proved of no avail, and the end, known to be inevitable, came as stated. During her residence in Bigga, where she was highly esteemed, the deceased made many friends. Mr. and Mrs. Faros were well known in Braidwood, where they frequently visited their brother, Mr. Harry Faros.
